News: Top 5 for the band Eden's Edge

Hey again!  More cool news...

I submitted "Blue Sky Sunday" to another songwriting contest and it made it to the top 5 out of 172 submissions!  This time, the band Eden's Edge is looking for "Dixie Chicks meets Nickel Creek" songs for their new project with Big Machine records.  I hadn't heard of Eden's Edge, but checked them out and they are great!  I heard back just a few days ago that it made it to the top 5!  We'll see what happens next, and of course I'll keep you updated.

Oh to be a full-time songwriter....

Update on Zac Brown Band Competition

Bummer!  I didn't win the Zac Brown Band competition, but I'm so honored to have made it to the top 25 out of 700 entries.  ZBB actually heard my song too, which is pretty fun.  Thanks for rooting for me, everyone!

Stay tuned for more "Meaning Behind the Song" entries, announcements about concerts in Texas, and an exciting new project I'll be starting soon.

Blue Sky Sunday in top 25 for Zac Brown Band Competition!

A few weeks ago, I entered a few of my songs into this fun songwriting contest and guess WHAT?!  They received over 700 entries, narrowed it down to 84, and then narrowed it down to the top 25.  And my song "Blue Sky Sunday" is in the top 25!  The Zac Brown Band will actually hear one of my songs!  And if I win I get to perform on a 4 day music cruise going from Tampa to Grand Cayman.  Not a bad gig!!!

You know what I'm hoping for?  That the Zac Brown Band will hear this song and say "You know what?  We'd like to record this song."  Wouldn't that be AWESOME?!  Let me answer that for you... YES IT WOULD!
